The center for Instructional Development (CID) has several programs that are designed for graduate students who are teaching classes at UTPB. Graduate Assistants are invited to attend all CID events.
Graduate Assistant Orientation
This seminar, which is held at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters, provides an introduction to the UTPB campus and the University rules and regulations regarding teaching. It is also an opportunity to meet colleagues, learn about students, receive ideas for teaching and learn resources for survival!

Individual Consultations
The CID can work with graduate students who are designing new courses or revising existing ones. This can be particularlyuseful for helping Graduate Assistants brainstorm new approaches to teaching the subject matter, consider the coherence of the course, and apply principles of course design and evaluation.
Graduate Assistant Workshops
The CID provides workshops throughout the semester for Graduate Assistantsfor the purpose of teaching tools and strategies related to instructional development.
